Default Rather quick lap with Neil

Video'd all of my 5 laps this year, plus this one when I was passenger onboard Neil's Evo.

What can I say?? - other than that thing shifts. Never been out on circuit with a car on R888's and couldn't believe the lateral grip in the corners. Very impressive indeed

Thanks Neil

Shame that BM got in the way! 888s were definitely the way to go on Saturday - they were amazing!

After using R888's on the last trip, I won't be using any other tyres than semi slicks again

Can certainly see why.... was genuinely surprised at just how much more grip they gave than my Vreds (which aren't exactly a shabby tyre!). I always knew they'd be good, but there were places where it still impressed me.

But would need baffled sump first for sure. Probably pushing my luck enough already without one, doing low 9-minute laps.

So so fast, the level of grip is shocking.
You can hear that rubbing on the video in the last 2 corners, did Neil ever find out what it was?

Could feel it in the car too, was the reason Neil backed off before the gantry at the end.

We had a good old look around the car/arches in the car park and found very small amounts of rubber in the lip at the back of the side skirt (you know where all the crud collects on a scoob in the rear arch). But we couldn't see any evidence of rubbing on the tyre. Not sure if Neil's found anything since.

Easy as driving it to the dealer and telling them to replace it.

Neil will also tell you his 888's are not in the best of condition. They have more than 100 + laps on them.

Post resurrection.

Seeing it's scoobyslayer 's birthday today, shame it's been far too long since Neil has been on here ( hope he is ok? ) I've just watched this lap again with Steve PPP as passenger .

This car and driver combo was awesome imo and seeing this again brought back memories of our first trip to the ring.Standing on the bank at Adenau with Big E asking me if I fancied a lap with Neil. Great times and memories.

How many days left before the next trip?
