Default Wheel size confusion.

Apologies if this has been done before, but I'm a little lost when it comes to this - keep coming across conflicting info, what with UK/US sites.

Basically, I quite like the look of Team Dynamics 1.2 in a lovely glossy anthracite, but don't want any drama when it comes to fitment.

I'm wondering what size TD wheels can I get away with a straight swap? diameter wise, I'm ok with, it's the offset that's a little confusing.

17x7, ET55 is OEM, if I'm right?

If I were to go with 17x7, ET45 for the TD's, would it scrub?

Cheers.

That looks spot on - 18"?

I know it wouldn't be any smaller than OEM, but darker wheels would have that appearance.

What size could I safely go to, which would be a direct swap with no scrubbing? Tyre size dependent.

I really am a complete noob when it comes to aftermarket wheels hah.

I run 18x8 TD Pro Race 1.2, et45 which clear the front Brembo's on an Sti. With 225/40/18 tyres they don't rub at all and fit with standard suspension.

Looks good!

18's are cool, but personally I want to stick with 17s. Got an idea of fitment now, too.

You need to go 7.5 inch width as a minimum.
There are many 7.5 ET45 styles around, but on a Newage the best/most popular fitment is a 18x8. ET51 being the standard fit but you can lower to around ET42 without issues. The lower the ET the more they stick out.

Scott.T - Clear and easy, thanks. Why can't other sites and forums be like SES?
