London Motor Museum
As per title, has anyone ever been? I have to kill up to 7 hours but maybe only 3-4 around the Heathrow area tomorrow and wondered if it was worth a visit. Also have breakfast at the Ace Cafe pencilled in to fill a bit of the morning. Was going to park up and get the Tube into London but will be just my like to get the call to pick my daughter up just as I get there and then have an hours journey back out to Heathrow.

That's where I'd go in that situation. |

There's a Café in the middle of the main hall and quite a big shop at the end (better than Duxford's IMHO). Don't forget to donate on the way out |

Never got to the LMM but did spend the best part of 2 1/2 hours at the RAF museum, could have done with longer but had to get back to Heathrow. Always amazes me how big things like Buccaneers, Phantoms and the Lightening were compared to the Tornado and Typhoon, the mock up of the F35 is tiny compared to anything else. Highly worth a visit but I would wait a year or so as there is a lot of remodelling and building going on ready for next year's centenary. At the moment all it will cost you is a maximum of £4 for parking and a voluntary donation, have a feeling the parking charges may soon increase as they are expanding the car park quite a bit. Only got a few pics on my phone but if I get a chance I'll post them later.

Glad you liked it.
We stopped there on the way back from holiday to break up the day/drive. |

I haven't been for years.
There used to be a seaplane, a Sunderland something or other, which was built in the factory my Gran worked in during the war. I remember being really proud as kid going to see it. Funny the things you remember... |
