Prodrive GT1s and Brembos?
I'm starting to play with the Spec B and fancy a set of GT1s anybody know if the 7.5j 5x100 ET48 versions clear Brembos (future plan is a brembo upgrade).
Or is anybody running the GT1s with a big brake conversion 330mm plus.

On the basis that standard FSTi wheels are ET48 and they clear Brembos I would assume they should.
There was a chap who had GT1s on his Forester with Brembos, which is good circumstantial evidence too. Nothing concrete though and the search function on SF.org is knackered at present, so I can't easily find the thread to confirm, sorry! |

I don't think they do Nick. Sure it came up in a thread on here a year or so ago.
There's two versions of the GT1s, a 5x100 7.5j was fitted to the GB270 (WRX based) so over 4 pots. Don't think these clear brembos. And then there's the 5x114.3 which I think is 8.5j which does clear brembos (was on the RB320s which had brembos). Quote:
So not sure then. But I wouldn't jump at buying a set without a test fitting |

I was running prodrive gt1 on my terzo cleared 4 pots with a couple of mm space left so cant see them clearing brembos .

In the absence of concrete evidence I would want to try them on too! I'll give the search function a go on sf.org later, but don't hold out much hope. It's utterly useless currently. |

Only issue is the GT1s are currently only £550 delivered!
I could go for Rota GRAs but I do prefer the look of the GT1s - also I don't have Brembos yet so may be able to fit K-Sports or AP's under the GT1s so could still upgrade the brakes. The spec B has 315mm brakes as standard but they are sliding 2 pots so not that good when pushed, also the pad choices are limited as they are an uncommon caliper - plus mine need a proper rebuild in the near future (typical Subaru pistons!).

Having looked even further into it I think a set of Rota GRAs may be the answer as they will clear Brembos and aren't that much more than the GT1s.
The advantage of going for std Brembos is the availability of the caliper a plus the lower cost and range of replacement disks pads etc.
