Default Blown piston rings?

Started my car this morning to find it was struggeling to start! When it did it was chucking out quite a bit of white smoke and then a loud ticking/ clunking noise from the engine! Has anyone had this before, its a 2006 hawkeye sti. Will need to take it or send it somewhere can anyone recomend decent subaru mechanics close too kent? Hope it dosent break down!!

The knocking has gone now and no smoke, been thinking this might be a good opportunity to get it forged any recomendations?

I think this may be the dreaded ringland issue the hawkeye is notorius for!! ��

If youre going to forge it might aswell get inserts to make it a 2.5 fully forged cdb speak to alyn at Asperformance about your options also engine tuner down in plymouth give them a call aswell .

Cool ill call him monday, sonce its hapoend the car has been spot on and no noice. Thinking it might just be the fuel pump as it was a struggle to start and now perfect? Strange!
