So Who's got the dirtiest work hack at the moment, here's my attempt after a week and about 500 miles, the number plate and lights were cleaned this morning.

I had a day trip to Lincoln on Wednesday, so my Foz is looking decidedly unclean!

My mondeo's about that bad, but not from one weeks use! Only do 30 miles a day but the car hasn't been washed in a couple of months so its pretty grim. Might get the snow foam out tomorrow if its warm enough

Help yourself Steve but it will look the same this time next week, I'll run a pressure washer over it tomorrow.

I came round the M25 earlier and there were cars that were just black at the back, completely unreadable number plates.

Did you use any pre wash, I use ValetPro Citrus pre wash, spray it on, leave it to dwell and pressure wash off, quick cleaning!

Nah, just 10 mins with a pressure washer so I could get within a foot of it without getting dirty. I'll give it a proper wash when all the salt is off the roads.

Whats this citrus pre-wash you speak of then? And what does it do that's different to the ValetPro snow foam?

It's a lot quicker to use and a bit more effective then snow foam, just spray it on straight out the bottle, but doesn't obviously have the coverage of snow foam. It's the same principle, I got 5 litres for around £20, have a search on YouTube to see people using it.

I generally use a pre wash, but I've run out, so today was a good old fashioned two bucket wash...!

As rob says - snow foam is more of a coverall that encapsulates loose dirt particles but doesn't really shift built on grime.

Citrus pre-clean starts to break down the built on grime but doesn't really encapsulate the bulky loose bits...

Both do a good job though

Must admit, it was weird driving the Scoob earlier and not having to keep clear the rear window, forgot it's different in a saloon compared to hatch or estate.
