Default Hi Guys

I'm a "newbie" in this club so.....Hiya.
I have owned my Subaru for 3 years now and really enjoy it. It is my everyday car.

Many people ask many questions about the babe so here are most of the facts:-

Original P1 ("308" of 1000 made)

I bought the car off a guy who had done his bit and really looked after it. It had a few modifications as the image below
suggests.

HKS Induction - Pace f/m Intercooler - Aluminium Radiator - De-Cat Stainless - New genuine Prodrive Springs & Dampers.

This was running at 310bhp and went very well.

After a year I decided I wanted it a tadge quicker so I spent much time looking into it and decided on Roger Clark Motorsport. Subject to much discussion between Matt & Olly Clark we commenced on a 3 phase project. Matt Clark has designed the engine himself and currently there a 3 engines based on the same spec, block and internals. Their own car "The Gobstopper", A guy with another P1, and mine.

This is the new engine.
Currently restricted to 425 bhp by the Turbo.

Engine is 800 bhp compatable only being restricted by the APS Intercooler rated at 725 bhp.

Early 2009 the engine is going to a twisted turbo that will produce 600 +. Before we can do that we need to bomb proof a few bits.

Just had these fitted.

355mm discs on front with 6 pot AP Racing, and 320mm on rear with 4 pot AP's

Next up (Nov), will be this new suspension. Exe TC with 40 "click" adjustments to each corner. Will be running approx 25 ish on the road and 35+ on track. hill climbs etc.

In December a new 6 speed box with RCM internals will be fitted, much the same as this one.
This pic also shows the Twisted Turbo system to be used.

We are now getting to the final stages. After the box is fitted, carbon prop, new diffs and drive shafts will be replaced.

Anti Lag is enable now, however Launch Control will be enabled when new turbo is fitted.
Matt and Dace Rowe (Motec wizzard) estimate 620 - 630 bhp.
We are expecting 0 - 60mph and back to a standstill in less than 6 seconds. Zero to 100mph will be 7 : something sec's.

It's rapid now, so I guess it will be a bit quick when finished.

Will keep you posted

Default Re: Hi Guys

Thank you for the welcome and comments fella's.

I have spoke to many Subaru owners who have either changed to a different model of Subaru, or, are thinking about doing so. All I can say is get a P1 if the situation ever arises.

There were 1004 made.
3 retained by Subaru
1 retained by Prodrive
12 registered as "written off" at the DVLA
254 stolen and assumed sold abroad.
which leaves a total of 734 left!.

An issue often overlooked when comparing a P1 to other Subaru's is that it's more Prodrive than Subaru.
The complete technical set up is all Prodrive and the front splitter & rear wing were designed by the same guy responsible for the Mclaren F1 road car.
Not sure how they achieved the feel and grip levels, but there are some clever people about.

I have driven a WRX. Sti, Type R and two classic imports and although all were impressive they are totally different to
drive. Over the years I have also driven a Lambo Countach, Ferrari 308, Lotus Esprit, Evo 8, and others.

I best way I can describe the feel of a P1 is this. After you have owned a P1, you feel like a passenger when driving anything else.

Holly cow! that is one serious spec car - Hats off to you for your dedication to it. I love my scoobs, but would have given up along time ago and just bought a 911 Turbo2 which would have been cheaper.
