Standard Re-Circ. the Impreza runs a MAF therefore if you fit a VTA valve you are releasing metered air to atmosphere which causes the car to run rich. There are also lot's of threads on rough running with aftermarket valves fitted. I did run a Forge VTA valve on my car for a while (FMIC, MAFlesss and mapped in) and found it to be exceptionally annoying with the constant chav sound! I now run without any BOV at all.

I think the majority of people here run the standard recirc unless running a front mount intercooler, usually cause problems and people revert to standard if they can.

I had a Baileys VTA on mine when I bought it and switched back to a standard re-circ, I don't see any benefits from having an aftermarket BOV other then the noise if that is your thing and something shiny in the engine bay. If it were me I'd put the hard earned cash into something else on the car.

As said above. I had a dump valve on my first scoob, car didn't idle correctly and ran very lumpy, changed back to re-circ... Problem solved.

yeah stick with standard - only fools add BOV's to get a childish whoosh everytime they lift off (Yes I have a HKS SSV)
Standard is obviously the best route for most - so as Rob says - id put the cash towards something which adds performance rather than cosmetic. Get the basics sorted first, then if you wish to splash on something else after - do so
