I should be there... provided nothing baby related kicks off!
Saw the final shootout last year, it was brilliant (unlike my photography)! |

Tracy and I are there with the RB Foundation on Saturday and Sunday Big E. Be good to see you. Sunday is pretty busy mate but a good buzz. Be great if Olly does it again!

Down there Friday.
People say Sunday is busier but I have only been once on a Sunday and found it no different to a Friday. Infact leaving at our usual 'please make your way to the carpark' prompted departure at 6:45-7:00pm on a Sunday was actually better. I think alot must leave after the timed shootout. |

And quite right too.
The ring is a public road on tourist days..

The Sunday is nowhere near as packed as it used to be. With the extra days now, the numbers are far better managed.

Its muddy guys, like you'd expect..... Car parks were boggy, and generally the main area (especially around the main manufacturer stands) is squelchy. Wear boots
Car parks looked like this in the morning, so expect them worse if there's more rain overnight (Both images robbed from twitter). But its England, take a brolly and enjoy the day! |

Nice Foz spotting, Steve.
The weather looks better for the next few days, so hopefully it'll dry out by Sunday. It's not been wet for quite a while. |

Pretty much what I was going to say!
I was at Uni with Ross Brawn's daughter... I only mention this because of my "spoilt brat" comment on the other thread. Michael Schumacher was helicoptered in to her 21st birthday party and I have it on good authority she had a tantrum because she was given a brand new BMW not a Ferrari (like her sister got - the reason given was she was a poor driver!). |

I was at school with Stella McCartney, what biatch she was had a real chip on her shoulder about having to go to a state school, was a real nasty piece of work and a bully. When she went to college and had to do a fashion show for her designs she managed to get Naomi Campbell to model them!

Her younger brother James and her older sister Mary were ok apparently although I never knew them.
Back to James Martin, he cooks with lots of butter and he's a petrol head so he's ok with me. Other notable people we saw, Keanu Reeves, John McGuiness, Jochen Mass, Derek Bell, Tim Harvey, Frank Biela, James Hillier and probably more that I've forgotten. Every one we met was polite and happy to sign stuff and pose for photos. |

Nice job there! Would love to see Ross Brawn back in F1, not sure it'll ever happen now though. Probably enjoying a relaxed life with all those millions in the bank
Big Jari-Matti fan too (being a WRC nut). Such a likeable chap, and just unfortunately this his time in the spotlight has been up against the two Sebastians that has made him look just a bit average when he isn't... |

Great set of pics Shane - Plato is a nice dude and usually friendly - haven't really met anyone else as I'm not a massive events type of person.
Should really make an effort to go to this next year tho although I'll be there most of the evening cleaning the mud off my car from getting in by the looks of it

Looked like a very good day and you did well getting some good pics with all that lot.
I'm still asking myself why didn't I get tickets this year, it's a great event. |

All the guys with the Brawn had their Brawn team kit on so looked good. Shame Jenson won't be driving it but I guess it's all contractual what with it having a Mercedes engine, Mr Brundle will be enjoying himself in it though. Heard Ross Brawn saying he'd had the car years but it hadn't been run and he thought it probably never would again.
Had a long chat with Mark Higgins, he was gutted he didn't get his last run in at the IOM due to bad weather and wants to have another go next year, both agreed it had been too long since hearing a WRC Impreza at full chat on tarmac. Did about 10 hours this year and very little of that was spent watching stuff going up the hill, didn't even bother with the long track up to the top and the rally stage. |

Not the best weather yesterday, but still had a cracking day. It was the earliest I've ever set off for a day at the FoS, but the latest I've ever parked the car (10): the traffic to get in was horrendous. Guess there were a lot of issues with flooding though.
Stayed until about 7 to try and see as much as possible and it was pretty clear that the rain forced a lot of people out early. I was at the top of the hill at around half 4 and, where it is usually two or three rows deep at that point it was virtually deserted. Still, meant we could stand at the front without having to wait an age! As for the event itself I thought there was slightly less content than usual: still more than enough to fill a day though and, as ever, I have no doubt I'll be back next year. NB: I'm also totally in love with the Praga that was in the supercar enclosure.

Everything crossed, virtually all of the fuel system has been changed, some twice at a huge cost time now to move it on.
Liz saw a wrx hatch parked up in Carnac last week which she really liked |

Wow !!
The first time I've been on a Sunday. The atmosphere for the final shoot out up the hill was really good with the added bonus of Olly Clark winning. It is Sundays for me from now on We got there at 07.20 there were slight delays getting in because of the condition of the ground, it was quite amusing seeing BMWs being towed in

I didn't see the shootout this year as it would have been too much for my little boy, not you're right that the atmosphere at that point is brilliant. Where did you watch from? We managed nearly eight hours, which is pretty good for a four and a half year old! He loved it and was pretty excited to see Ken Block in the flesh. |

Ideal. If you're near a grandstand the tension rises nicely and makes it a different experience entirely.
Last year I got chatting to a German chap who lived in Austria on one of the viewing platforms. He was a really interesting guy and had a 1920's Bugatti that he was talking about... I got the distinct impression this was just one of his collection, but he was interested in talking about the Bugatti as there was another one doing the hill climb. It was the first time I'd taken the time to watch the shootout for years and just chatting to random enthusiasts between cars and batches was thoroughly enjoyable. |
