Going to be early start for me I think as Jo wants to bring the Tiger as well, so going to have to get that sorted first thing. I better bring jump leads!

I should be in relative luxury in the Scoob.

Stage 1 - make it stop
Stage 2 - make it handle
Stage 3 - make it go
Stage 4 - make it look nicer
Stage 5 - make sure not to bin this one!

Have you got a ratio of stages to time before Germany...

Ideally stage 2 & 3 before Germany, but struggling with time and resource.

If I do stage 3 I run the risk or having to take the Merc if I fail to complete. If I don't do stage 2 I am wondering if it will make it. I do have a potential stage 2.1 that involves a slightly more temporary solution.

I must say that Rob, you have potentially helped with part of stage 3 as gets a lot of prep work sorted, just not sure how much I need to do, or how detailed I am going to be, I keep looking at Scott's car and thinking I need to up my game, then look, again and realise I am never going to get to that quality.

Will do what ever I can to assist with getting stage 2 and 3 sorted by the time Germany comes around.

I think you could always look to get near to Scotts car but would have to accept a huge amount of time and money is potentially needed. You get the car to a decent place before Germany and I reckon you will love it enough to know exactly what you want to do to it and what direction to go.

We may be in the Legacy now - just thought I'd stick the battery conditioner on today as I've not used the car all week to be sure and the battery is totally dead and not taking any charge!
I need to try and get a new one today.

Ahh that's a bummer!

Fired mine up last night for the first time since the XMas Meal - was so weird driving her again this morning to work! I forgot how brutal that clutch was and how harsh the ride is compared to the Audi! ha ha

Hope you sort it, the scoob needs to see some daylight

I went out into the garage last night to check on mine, central locking didn't even unlock it was so flat. It had a few hours charge last night and will get a few more hours this evening so should fire up ok. Really need to get a proper trickle charger.

I have one of these - had it over a year now:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/BC-Battery-C...ery+maintainer

It can be left on the car for upto 2yrs I believe.

Fantastic little device - my car has sat in the garage since Xmas meal - went out last night, un-clipped the maintainer - and she fired straight up

CTEK MXS 5.0 in my garage, about £60, does the trick nicely, has even brought back a deeply discharged battery after two reconditioning sessions, best money spent.

Going to get another one soon as I really could do with two, i got extension leads for it and run it under garage door to car on drive as well.

I wonder if anyone has ever left for a meat the night before it in the past? Glad you got there all ok, Arundel is a nice place.

The wake up call will need Dave and his exhaust for the full effect, you will hear him when he leaves home!

I can see Jo asking for her breakfast tea with extra hot water and then sneaking the hot water bottle out of her handbag

What a disappointment! Got to the circuit at 12.15 to find the gate shut - full to capacity! Hope you all had a great time. There were a lot of unhappy people at the gate, and a lot of frustration on the roads as people drove off again. Lots of nice cars about though..

What a disappointment! Got to the circuit at 12.15 to find the gate shut - full to capacity! Hope you all had a great time. There were a lot of unhappy people at the gate, and a lot of frustration on the roads as people drove off again. Lots of nice cars about though..
That's a shame Keith.
It was the busiest we have ever seen it.
We arrived at 0940. When I went back to the car an hour later the people were hunting spaces.
The rest who arrived later were in the overflow car park.

Yeah! Totally agree, was a great day all round.

Nice to see so many people and that some decent weather turned up too. Thanks for organising breakfast Dave and inviting us back to yours to play on the sim.

Will try and get some photos up soon if they turned out OK.

Fantastic to see everyone. Thanks for letting me vent my cold issues. Had good run home, sold my interior from the bug and just caught Saj leaving JPP to pickup some whiteline parts.. So now I can get the rb5 handling sorted.

I won't be buying a kit car anytime soon, scooby is just fine []

And lastly thank you to everyone for looking after Jo today, she really appreciated it.

Cracking day, and thanks to Dave for sorting breakfast out. It's fair to say we've definitely had cheaper breakfasts before but the quality of the food was spot on so can't complain.

Goodwood was packed, word certainly has got out about the Saywell days now. Was as many people wandering around as you see at the breakfast club meets. Sorry to hear you couldn't get in Keith, that's a right pain after your journey over

Hopefully see you all at the next SES meet in April

Thanks to everyone for your help and support today. Totally under estimated how temperamental a kit car could be. Especially one that's not been used in 6 months. I think a new battery might be in order.

It's a very reassuring to have my own co pilot (Wanda), pit crew and support vehicles buzzing around.

Good to see you all again and may have made my mind up about what to do with the car!

Haha was so much fun. It was nice to have all of you staying with us on the journey from arundel to Goodwood. Even though you all had to go round the roundabouts three times to keep by us. Made us feel safe just in case she (meaning Tiger not Jo) decided to stop for a break on the hard shoulder.

I felt very honoured to be asked to be copilot and laughed all the way. Especially when the boys overtook us and we were in awe of the noise of the engines but then very quickly engulfed by fumes lol. We laughed none the less. Putting the handbrake on was a rather fruity occasion, good job I know you well Jo hehe xx

Thank you Jo and Simon Ps I hope you have thawed out by now 😊

Thank you organisers for a fun morning out and breakfast xx

Sounds like it was a good day but stumbled across this post on Pistonheads, did anyone else witness the guy in the black GTR, he seems to be turning up at events all over the place and causing problems.
