Default Mechanical help

Morning all been busy so apologies for not being on here for a while. Changed jobs now doing courier work with my better half whom I am now engaged to!

I am after some helovely with scooby as it needs head gaskets replacing I have been quoted 580 for labor but like everyone am wondering if anyone has a better price or could help for cash in hand?

While it needs head gaskets your heads might need skimmed aswell so you will need to take that into consideration

You're going to want to get both heads checked by a machine shop at least, false economy chucking a set of heads straight on. Don't think that's bad money wise but I'd be asking what's getting done

Plenty of members who can help pull the engine etc. as a 'favour' but in terms of skimming the heads that's a machine shop job! One option is to pull the engine yourself and then get one of the engine builders to do the HGs.

got my old bug wrx lump which I think could go in if you swap inlet and stuff over, only looking for £150 for it, long motor.

Thanks guys I have got price to 500 and he is willing to do 150 and then 100 a month. ...bug engine sounds interesting how many miles has it done?
