Check inside the boot for damp/rust as they leak!
Front and rear sub frames and crash bar
Rear arches

+1 for boot leak check

Locate the jack on the left hand side - once you take out the jack take a good look and feel around for damp areas/rust

Right hand side you will need to pull down the interior a bit just a couple of clips.

Check all your usual bolt on mod areas

It's a 10+ year old car so a good test drive is essential.

Also just check last cambelt change etc 85K miles I would expect a change recentish

Knocking rear suspension, oil change history, if jdm stone chips as they have very thin paint.

Rust starting to appear between the bootlid and spoiler on the rear edge, rust bubbling through rear arches, cam belt history a must - a 2002 bugeye should have had two belt changes by now (every 5 years) even if the mileage isn't done.

Look for non-standard exhaust parts (decat downpipe etc) and if so, check to see if there's any documentation that its been mapped.
