Default Service - recommendations

Hey, Merry Christmas all!

I have a few things need sorting on my car and this time of year, funds are quite short.

My car needs a full services, front break pads replaced and one rear seat belt looked at.

Can anyone recommend someone who knows their stuff, is good, and wont rip me off please?

Thank you xx

Dan at Surrey Subaru Specialists in Camberley takes care of both our Subarus and I can't speak highly enough of the work he's carried out for us.

It's a bit of a drive, but well worth it.

To give an example of his honesty and customer focused approach, on Monday I was over with Mrs Stig's Impreza as the starter motor had been making some worrying noises, intermittently and mostly on cold (by this year's standards) mornings.

The easiest thing would have been to put a new one on, but Dan inspected it, cleaned it out (a load of crud came out) and decided the teeth/gearing were in good order, so could be refitted. This cost me next to nothing and (touch wood) seems to have worked as it's started with no noises since (early days I acknowledge). That's just the most recent example, I have many more!

I've had my Subaru nearly five years and after initially using someone else (don't ask) no one else has touched it. Similarly, Mrs Stig's car has been looked after by Dan since we got it three years ago.

Dan's unbelievably busy most of the time, so for non urgent stuff you are best off booking in advance. His book of work should tell you what you need to know though... he's in demand.

PM me if you want further details.

Stay away from Horley Auto Services on Bonehurst Road, had a track rod changed there once as it was convenient, they didn't redo the tracking, the under tray fell off on the way home and I think they applied so much heat to it they knackered the seals on the steering rack.
