Default Smartphone Apps
Due to a change of work circumstances I've had to drag myself into the 21st century and get a smartphone! It is a Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 using Android 5.

I'm after recommendations for apps please. Anything at all that you have found useful or fun... even car related! I'm going to be on the road more as a mobile computer technician and the car already has a Satnav, but if there's a great Satnav app out there I'd try it.

Free apps are preferable

Waze is a free sat nav, used it a few times without any problems

Torque which can read error messages from your OBD2 port plus other stuff like showing oil pressure etc etc

Will have to try Waze, i've always just used the Google maps navigation wotsit and found it pretty good.

It's like a cross between a map/navigation system and social media. Users post traffic incidents, so it's quite handy compared to waiting for reports... closer to 'real time'.

Of course, it relies on having plenty of active users!

I've installed several apps now inc Waze, Tapatalk & Shell Motorist, but as a long time computer user the fiddly little screen is taking some getting used to

Yes, I don't use much. Kids do though.

My most used App is Viewranger. Great when out walking or mountain biking if you pay for the use of Ordnance Survey maps.

Thanks for the suggestion I tried Endomondo - Running & Walking this afternoon which logged my afternoon stroll quite nicely!

I also tried VLC and watched some of the Countryfile Highlands NC500 programme. Very impressed with the quality of the screen

Used Endomondo before but deleted it a year or so ago as it started redirecting my phone to porn sites! Great when you're still in range of the work wireless network lol

Googled something like 'endomondo porn adverts' at the time and there were loads of people complaining of the same and that their kids used the phone etc. Now use Runkeeper instead.
