Not Shoreham, but I'm going to Wings and Wheels next weekend and it's flying there.

Can't wait. Seen it a fair few times and I get goosebumps every time!

Great footage ... almost looks like slow motion at times

I was treated to several WW2 aircraft flying from Biggin Hill today, Spitfires etc. 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. There was also a lot of activity over the weekend as the Red Arrows were flying overhead as well

Me too mate, its a stunning aircraft. I'm hoping to do Shoreham on one day, and there's a good spot to watch from on the hill on the other day for free. Vulcan normally flies between 4-5pm at Shoreham but trying to find info to make sure its not different this year.

Are you walking up the hill. If so where do you park. As may have a run over.

Was also thinking of going in to the event, but too late now to get organised for today.
Weather for tomorrow seems to of improved, so maybe everyone will go today and tomorrow will be quieter (and cooler).

As you chaps have had your trackday pulled, don't forget about Wings and Wheels next weekend.

Advance tickets are available still I think (hope so as I haven't booked yet!).

The Vulcan, amongst many others, is due to be there.

The two main watching spots outside (without standing on the side of the A27) seem to be Mill Hill and the hill up behind Lancing College.

Not done Mill Hill before, but I understand the lane might be closed so its a case of parking in the houses at the top of Shoreham and walking over the bridge up the hill.
Location is here:https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/...ca5644!6m1!1e1

The other spot that i've done for the last two years is up behind Lancing college. There's a car park up the top but its small (maybe 20 cars) and gets packed, although i've got in there both times with a bit of creative verge parking. There's parking in the nearby housing estate too.
Car park here:https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.84.../data=!3m1!1e3
Walk to here: (5 mins)
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.84.../data=!3m1!1e3

These were taken from the second spot a couple of years ago

Can be pot luck whether it chooses to loop over the hill though.

This doesn't look too clever.

Condolences to all those affected by today's air crash.
A lucky escape for some but not others unfortunately.
I'm just glad I got stuck behind a tractor on the way over and didn't get caught up in the incident.

Thanks for the call en-route Steve and I hope your all O.K.

It's been updated since I first read it and looks far worse than first reported.

Dreadful.

I'm glad i stopped for fuel, that was more than enough to make the difference Home safely but such a tragic event. Happened about 300-400 metres in front of me.

Was between the river and the traffic lights at the Sussex Pad in stationary traffic. Watched it come out of the loop vertically down directly towards us, then pull out of the dive. Unfortunately far too late to complete the manoeuvre. I reckon another 10 metres of altitude and he'd have got away with it.

Crikey, that's not a nice thing to see.

Glad you're alright. Feel terrible for those caught up in it. Horrific.

Unbelievable stuff, been watching the news and social media and it's pretty rare and tragic to see the whole thing unfold.

Very unfortunate that it all happened on the main road and that such a manoeuvre went as wrong as it did.

Glad you are ok Steve and that fate and/or good luck kept you out the way of the crash site, I'm sure being so close to something like that is enough to shake anyone a little.

Really sorry to have seen and heard this today, glad you and your families are ok Steve & Scott. My sympathies to those families involved, truly horrific

The Vulcan still flew over 40mins or so after the event..

Yeah the Vulcan did a single low pass in front of the crowd before heading west to other displays. Was just being turned round by the police to go up the a27 the wrong way when it came over.

Not surprisingly, it was caught on dashcam. I'm sure you've all seen footage on the news/web but this was pretty much my viewpoint of it.

You can see my grey mondeo in the right lane at about 40 seconds in. Such a tragic event, so many families affected when they were just on their daily business.... nothing to do with the airshow.

Unfortunately there are far too many cold hearted idiots in the world that we live in these days.
