Default Just fitted my knock link in to my clocks with guide

Well had a knock link for a bit now(It was cheap)but could not fit it looking like this as it looks like a kit from maplins my kid would make.

So planned on fitting it in the clocks somewere and today was that day.Started by pulling the dash out and clocks to pieces and found a spot to fit the led's above the speedo. But first had to rewire the unit to look like this

Red/black-power
Green/black-To sensor
Grey's-For the 5 led's
Then put a large bit of heat shrink over the whole board.
Next was to drill the face plate of the clocks (did have a spare set i tryed first but want a bit petetong) Second go all went well but they do look out of line in the picture this is due to the large led at the end making the distance's look out between the rest. The small led's are 3mm the large is 5mm.

Then fitted the led's into the face and fixed with a small spot of super glue.

You have to put a hole in the top of the clock case to put the leds through then carefully bend the wires so the plate fit's nicely back on to the clocks.

Now you have the clocks and knock link loose not good.

I found the whole in the back of the dash was---------

Just the right size to be able to stick the knock link to the back of the clocks with good old double sided tape.

So it then looks like this

Next was put it all back together.I wired the + to the ignition switch live and earth to a good point under the dash, the sensor was just plug and play.I used gold 4mm plugs for this.

So dash back together

Now the sensor i fitted to the lug on the block just behind the standard knock sensor you can get to this i found with out taking off the intercooler.(You can see the top of the allen bolt in picture) the wire can be routed how ever you want mine want through the grommet on the drivers side as a already had my oil pressure wire going that way.

Now it is fitted the sensitivity is at full and the 1st green led lights up dim all the time(think this to let you know it is working i did not get any instructions with it so not sure) but if knock starts it goes bright and on start up with all the starter noise they all flash on.I gave the car a good run taking it through the rev's and only got 2 greens at around 5200 with the Apexi reading 9 for knock so think it's not that far out.

Hope this is a help to someone wanting to lose the black box the knock link comes in and as this is my first try at writing up a how too hope it's not to boring.
