Default up pipe

Do I have to remove the turbo to fit an up pipe? Or can I drop the manifold?

Mine was a case of turbo off rather than removing headers. I've seen it done both ways, but I guess its easier to do via turbo removal as thats how Jaffa did mine years ago.

Bolts on the turbo heatshield can be a pain though, mine needed cutting out.

Think you're thinking about the downpipe mate.

I did my up pipe without removing the turbo, just dropped off one side of the headers where the collector is, hardest bit was getting the front lambda sensor off

Apologies - I thought my Harvey smith was an up pipe - done when I had the exhaust and ported headers fitted... Thanks for correcting

No worries mate, your harvey smith is an uppipe, if you had the ported headers fitted at the same time then makes sense to do it that way rather than taking the turbo off.

From your first post i thought you only changed the turbo-back exhaust, hence my reply. Confused.com
