Default Tone get's my business after LSUK collapse

Well it's a sad week when LSUK go bust.

I have had every car I own MOT'd at the local LSUK/Lucas branch since 1989, and a nice bunch they were.
Many of them had been there all that time, so such a shame they won't even get any redundancy from the firm, just the basic government handout.

Well one mans loss is anothers gain, so I will be popping in to Tone in the next few weeks for my 1st MOT outside of LSUK.

Yeh years ago the workshop was always heaving.
Last few years (prob since rebranded as LSUK) the workshop only had 1 or 2 cars being worked on.
Shame as Alan the MOT guy is a top bloke and likes his cars & bikes.

My firms directly opposite, and watched it ALL happen. Workers turn up on Monday including the manager, only to find a notice on doors say they have gone bust, locks changed and contact a number. You could see the look of horror and shock in there faces. Really, felt from them. Wasn't handled very well at all.

Aparrantly they had £0000's of pounds worth of own tools and stuff locked up in there.

Being a mechanic is one of the few jobs where you have to supply your own tools to do the job eveb though you're not self employed. My brother built up a really nice set of tools, the majority of which were Snap-On including the cabinet and then had the lot stolen from the workshop. He then found out they weren't covered on his employers insurance.

Can you imagine turning up for a new office job somewhere and being told you've got to supply your own desk, chair and computer and if any of them brake you've got to replace or repair them yourself.
