Rust
Was cleaning the scoob today and was gutted to see the first signs of rust on one of my rear arches. Thought the newages were less affected by this than the classics but alas....
Its only a small bubble but it has split the paint so I assume it'll get worse. Who have people used locally to sort this kind of thing? Or shall I just treat it with rust-x, touch it up with paint to seal it and see what happens? The cars in good condition for its age but its never going to be concours... Haven't taken a pic yet but will do in the daylight tomorrow. |

Mines in at the moment, wait and see what it turns out like before I recommend anyone but he has a good reputation.
There's no easy fix unfortunately, will always come back unless it's cut out. It's not just Scoobs either, there's an 02 plate Evo at work with a rusty rear arch. |

Pull the boot lining and get a torch into the gap next to the turret, they rust from the inside out. Scott put some photos up of the same area on his classic.

It will get worse mine has gone from barely noticeable pin heads to 3 bubbles with split paint and spreading back towards light cluster in about 8 months.

The idea was that he made such a good job of mine that I'd send everyone else in his direcion. Sounds like he's done a few already.

Thing is with rust is that it's only going one way. Take action sooner rater than later.
Usually the rust patch is a lot bigger than what is outwartly visible
