Default The new wagon

Took delivery yesterday and have been out and about quite a bit - it's already dirty. Very relaxed, easy drive and so many toys! Haven't even scratched the surface with what it can do. Camera won't upload, so here are a few pics from my phone.

Difficult to say I'll keep it stealthy - it's so bright.

Made the mistake of telling my wife that it cost less than the T25 did, and that was 10 years ago

I'm sure they'll sit on it for a while, after all they must be the ones who came up with the delivery date in the first place, plus you'll need that 15 plate.

Have been thinking about a personalised plate for ours but not yet found one that passes the SWMBO test. I rather like T25XRS, but I don't think that will do as she hates the Scoob

Yes Phil, the dealer is happy to sit on it as the original deal was March delivery. I've got my plate going on from new so won't see the 15 plate.

I've given up keeping my better half happy with cars. The scoob was too lairy and this too posh!! She'd have us all driving galaxy's I think!!!

T25 XRS. Now there's a nice plate!

Merc are making such good looking cars these days. BMW have completely lost it, they all look the same.

Very nice OP, best colour too

Agreed. I looked at all three recently. BMW, MERC and AUDI. the bm's looks wise have lost their way though to be fair they are still the better drivers car. The Audi looks old, especially inside which is why I ended up going merc. I love what they've done with the new 'C'. Absolute bargains to lease too.

When I get it I'll be down to see you John for some rears

I thought you might be starting to get a bit excited.....

We love it. Done around 1,500 miles now (mostly by my wife, who put on most of it visiting her mother in Gloucester). It's just great for tooling around, smooth ride, seamless gear-changes etc. Had a quick play with sport+ and it changes the whole character - it can be quick! And we love all the toys - we've been back to the dealer three times for "lessons" (we're obviously slow on the uptake) but they welcome us like old friends, ready with the coffee and biscuits.
Economy is a little disappointing at the moment - around 44 on the last tank, but I expect it'll pick up with a few more miles under its belt. I suggest you run yours in in comfort (if you do that sort of thing - I'm old fashioned, so I like to run in an engine) so that it doesn't use too high a gear, as it's apt to do in Eco.

Overall brilliant, very pleased with our choice.

When do you pick yours up?

Cool.

It took the Golf about 10,000 miles before I started seeing near factory quoted MPG. It kicked around the high 40's up until then but now is comfortably into the mid to high 50's and easily into the 60's on a run.

That being said, for a sub 7 sec fairly big estate even mid 40's isn't bad.

Like you, I prefer to give it any easy life for the first 1000 or so miles.

I pick it up on 25th March, so getting closer!.

We'll have to have a Mercedes meet and compare notes!
