Computer running slow
Hi, my Dell computer running windows is slow to start up and generally runs slow.Its a problem with the computer as our tab runs fine.So I need a clean up programme thats simple to use that will sort everything out.Quite happy to pay for something.Does anybody have any suggestions.Thanks.

Do a system clean up with de fraging that's on the computer already using the control panel under maintenance I think .

Dell has a built in diagnostics routine which is accessed by pressing F12 on boot up. Run this first to highlight any hardware issues.
I use Ccleaner to 'tidy up' computers. You can list programs that run at startup and disable any you don't need. Uninstall unwanted apps etc. Run an antimalware program too such as Hitman Pro, Malwarebytes Antimalware or Adwcleaner (or all three!) They are all free to use, but you can buy them to unlock extra features. What OS are you running? Windows 7? As Scotty said, you can use disk clean up as well.

Windows key + R, then type msconfig.
Then click on the startup tab and disable anything you don't want to load on startup. Also click on the services tab and disable all the Dell bloatware that just slows things down.

also... Remove any daft toolbars that have been installed on your web browsers! do that in control panel add/remove programs (or programs) under 7/8/8.1 Or do that in the browser itself under plugins/extensions/application extensions etc depending on the browser you are using.
