Default Wheel offset

I have just tried doing my wheel offset and it comes out as 63.5 if I round the measurement to the nearest inch or 64.77 if I use the exact measurement am I doing something wrong as that seems to be a big offset .

Is the wheel flat on the ground when measuring or resting on the alloy.

Ideally measure alloy lip to lip then inner lip to hub face or tyre outer face to tyre inner face then tyre inner face to hub face (all in mm)

Measure full width = W
Divide W by 2 = X
Measure from hub face to rear edge = Y
Subtract Y from X = Offset

Alternatively find the 'ET' stamped on the rear of the wheel

That's exactly what I done and no ET stamped on the wheel .

Is it measure from wheel spoke on inside to rim edge as that's what I did .

No, rear of the face where it clamps to the hub/disk to edge.

An offset of 63 will have the wheel/tyre rubbing/fowling the strut.
Mine is very close on an 8 inch ET51. So close that a 235 fowls but a 225 clears.

Just watch the video again it looks like she is taking the first measurement from the floor to the bottom edge of the piece of would as there is no way there is 5 in difference between the spoke and the height of the wheel flange .

She is right.
Because she measures floor to wood this gives an overall width. You are trying to find the offset from the centreline therefore it doesn't matter how thick the tyres are the centreline will always be in the same place if you measure tyre edge (floor) to tyre edge (wood edge).
