Toyo proxy T1R
Hi, I need 2 new tyres at the front (back are budgets) and I've found a place that can do toyo proxys for £130 fitted, firstly is this a good price and secondly is there much point in getting the toyos as I've got budgets on the back? Just need some opinions really? I didn't think that 130 fitted was a bad price at all.

Agree with the above, but for what it's worth TR1's aren't great in my opinion.
What size is the £130 for? If 17's I'd say there are probably some others in that price bracket that are worth looking at. |

camskill do vredsteins for £81 each or perelli p rosso for £85, why not buy from them an then get your local garage to fit em ? they even do 12 months interest free credit if you buy 4
just a thought |

I do like T1R on my classic for a decent all around tyre on what is a road/track car. Bit softer but do the job as I don't do as many road miles.
I run Hankook V12 on my bug which is a daily and can recommend too. If you can find someone who will fit the tyres nearer a 10er a corner, camskill is probably the way to go. Otherwise something like blackcircles or mytyres with the option of choosing a fitter may be the way forward. |

if you can afford it get good quality tyres on all four corners, people spend all that money on a good handling car, then more money on uprated suspension, then put budget tyres on. The tyres are the first thing you should do, they are the only thing gripping the road.
heard good things about Vredsteins, personally I have Yoko AD08's on the Scoob, especially as I do very little mileage in it and when I do drive it, it is quite often on track, they are simply the best all round tyre I have ever come across, they are grippy in the wet and dry. They do cost a bit more though. |

The Toyos are good on a Classic, but the sidewalls are too soft to suit a Newage. The Vredestein is a much better tyre for your car, and much cheaper aswell |

i ran with toyo's on the front and budgets on the back before.
The thing to remember is that scoobs understeer rather than oversteer, so if your ARB's are stock, then budgets on the rears reduce the understeer effect slightly and yuo can get away with it. budgets on the front and toyo's on the back however is a big no-no. |

What tyres did you go for in the end?

I decided to change all four in the end, so went for a bit of a cheaper option and as Craig recommended i went with the kumho ku37s, brilliant tyre for the money, low road noise great grip, as Craig says they are definatly on par with bridge stones.

Thanks.
Be interested to hear what you think once you have done a few miles on them. I've heard/read decent reviews too. |

Hi mate, the journey to leeds castle today was fine on the new tyres, really low road noise and great handling, obviously I'm still yet to try them in the wet lol but so far they are faultless, I would definitely recommend them.
