As per title for those that are interested : http://www.northursalia.com/techdocs/spring/spring.html
Tein S-tech for the classic fit into the Tein Soft category as the figures match those on http://www.scoobyparts.com/acatalog/...T_CLASSIC.html

STi Pinks (options) :
Product: Coil Springs Subaru Impreza WRX GC8 Type RA
Available Type:
- Front Side: K=35N/mm (3.6Kgf/mm) : 201lb/in
- Front Side: K=39N/mm (4.0Kgf/mm) : 223lb/in
- Front Side: K=50N/mm (5.1Kgf/mm) : 285lb/in
- Rear Side: K=30N/mm (3.1Kgf/mm) : 173lb/in
- Rear Side: K=32N/mm (3.3Kgf/mm) : 185lb/in
- Rear Side: K=48N/mm (4.9Kgf/mm) : 274lb/in

STi Pinks Lowered :
Height Reduction (mm): -30 compare to OEM
Spring Spec:
- Front: K=34N/mm (3.5kgf/mm) : 195lb/in
- Rear: K=30N/mm (3.1kgf/mm) : 173lb/in

STi OE Springs for Reference, of which some match the above :
STi V4 : 196lb/in (F), 174lb/in (R)
STi V5 : 224lb/in (F), 185lb/in (R)
STi V6 : 237lb/in (F), 195lb/in (R)
STi V6 Tarmac Spec : 286lb/in (F), 274lb/in (R)

P1 (Red) Prodrive Eibachs
215lb/in (F), 195lb/in (R)...this is the rumour. Although I have read elsewhere on a USA forum that this is not as true as many forums make out.

I need to get this confirmed, as I want the ideal spec for my Bilsteins (which would be Blue Prodrive Eibachs) and no-one seems to know the true answer.

If I remember rightly when the P1 was launched one of the things that was not quite right was the spring rates where too soft compared to the Jap Sti's (they set them soft to deal with the UK roads) making the P1 tend to understeer abit compared to the jap V5/6 sti's (I think I read this originally in an autocar mag review while the P1 was on sale.)

I'm no expert on this mind, the Eibach Prodrive spring kit I had on my classic seemed to work great with new shocks, I'm sure we have had this conversation before! (they where red not blue, 30mm drop from standard over oe.) did you try a set of these already on the car before Scot?

Not saying prodrive got it wrong! but there might be a "better" fast road option than prodrives original spring rates.

I've been looking at suspension and springs for the legacy and have decided to try the 'Lotus' school of thought where you run softer springs but stiffer dampers, essentially this is what the Spec B runs as std.

If you really want to confuse yourself, http://www.optimumg.com/docs/Springs...Tech_Tip_1.pdf

From the stats above the Prodrive P1 springs were softer on the front compared to the STi that was in circulation at the time, and that would make sense if they were ma nking them ride better on UK roads.

It depends what you wnat. It's fine having a car that turns in well, but it also has to deal with humps and bumps. It's not great if it drives like a go-kart but as soon as you carry a bit of speed up 90% of UK A or B roads that you bounce all over the place.

At the moment I am running the STi lowered, which are as near as damn it the STi 4 Spec.

The eibachs that came with the Prodrive Bilstein Upgrade were Blue with the following Eibach P/N's :
Front 20400550410
Rear 2230055060

There used to be 2 different sets of Eibach springs available from Eibach.
IIRC the Pro-Kit (Black) and the Sportline Kit (Red). One sat slightly lower then the other.

It may of been the case, as knowing how Prodrive/Subaru can operate some times, that Eibach were asked to stop supplying the lowered (Red) kit direct to the public, as it was too close to or was indeed to Prodrives requirements.
