time for a major clean
guys and girls. I've been looking at the clean-ness of most of your cars. What is the best body work products to use? Also im going to start tidying up the underneath thanks to (silversurfer) and just needs some hints and tricks to get the best out come.
Any help would be great. Tools needed for cleaning other than the obvious ( sponge, water, degrease)

Ideally for a deep clean/detail roughly twice a year you would:
Snow foam Rinse Hand Wash Clay bar Hand wash Polish Seal Wax. For I between cleans it should be : Snow foam Rinse Hand wash Top up wax As for products it depends on car colour, budget, time, personal preference! I use Poorboys black hole glaze, exp sealant and Nattys blue wax on mine. Some of the best general write ups are on polishedbliss.co.uk

I've been using auto glyms super resin polish followed by Meguiars NXT 2.0 wax with good results.
the auto glym polish imo isn't as aggressive as other polishes, meguiars, poor boys etc but is very easy to use and with the megs wax combo brings up a lovely deep shine. |

I think Green Dream is talking about the underside.....
Plenty of elbow grease, lots of baths and showers to get it all out of your hair and eye's etc..... Sersiously though, brush off what you can with a course brush, then degrease with something like white spirit on an old rag. For the arches I then re-undersealed using Hammerite Underseal. This tetroseal one is too thick and sticky. Then I coat the underseal with Silver Smoothrite. Although I don't think you will get smoothrite in 'Mica Red' so you may have to just use black. Where possible remove and repaint (Plasti-Kote is quite good) any fittings/brackets or even get items powder coated. Refit with new fixings if possible, stainless nuts and bolts are quite cheap on ebay. When removing sticky/rusty items don't do what I've just done and snap an M8 bolt that holds the rear ARB mounts to the chassis rails . Need to now drill it out an re-tap it (hoping it goes to plan). |

There's much better products out there than AutoGlym and at better prices.
