Default BC Racing coilovers

I'm planning on getting some coilovers, slightly earlier than expected but unfortunately needs must so I was wondering how do people rate these?

Thanks Andy

got them on my classic. easy to fit.
they don't mention it in the literature but you will need camber adjusting bolts on the rear shocks. scoobs come with them as standard on the front but not on the rear. The top of the 2 holes in the bottom of the shock is bigger than it needs to be so thay you can use a camber adjusting bolt in it. if you use the standard bolt, the top of the wheel sits out a little further than it should and caused arch fouling on my scoob. I just pushed mine in as far as it would go and did up the bolt.

apart from that though, I love them. easy to fit, easy to adjust. would recomend a full geo after though, especialy if you change ride height when you fit them

I have got BC's on mine and I really like them

Like everything, I think a few people have had some issues, but not me.

As recommended by Olly Clark too, so that's no a bad endorsement

Fitted quite a few sets, seem very good quality for the money. They had a few problems with knocking but I believe this has now been sorted.
Iv also got a set on my car.

I had them on my new age, I really liked them but they do give quite a harsh ride even on the soft setting

That's all down to the spring ratings you chose, in the time I've had my Teins.... 4 years, a few people I know have had problems with there BC's, with some changing them

Only prob I had was a snapped spring, but that Was more down to my fondness of getting my car off the ground

Are the camber bolts a problem then? Mines a new age

Mine are fine even though they are the older noisier ones (solid rear mounts). Ride is acceptable on uk roads. Can't remember my spring rates but I went with Bren @ apex's recommendation as mine were a group buy set.

Did you set up the spring rate your self mate or was that part of the geo?

never owned newage so don't know for certain but I suspect you will need them. you can just push the top in as far as it will go and tighten the bolt like I did, but if you go for a full geo, you may as well get the rear camber bolts so they can set it propperly. (Normaly there is no rear camber adjstment on OE rear suspension AFAIK)

Spring rates are set by the springs themselves, BC do a range of spring strengths. Speak to Bren @ Apex for his recommendation.

Thanks fella I'll ask a few q's when I order them, I must sound abit thick asking all these questions but I've never gone for coilovers before its either been shocks and springs or just springs lol

Got them on mine. For how much they lower the car and with 18's they are remarkably comfortable. They are stiff but that can be adjusted. When I first saw the wheel size and how low it is I was dreading it but it surprised me when I went out for a test drive before buying it.
