Symptons of Knocking Shock's OR something else ?
Since owning the car (had for 15 months now), on occassion you get the sensation that something has dropped at the rear as you coast at very slow speed or just as you pull away.
It is occasionaly accompanied with a click, and can be the left or right rear. The sensation is similar to, but not as dramatic as, when you release the handbrake on a hill start and the back of the car drops slightly. It has done this on the OE springs, Prodrive spings and now also on Tein springs. I don't appear to have any knocking noises in general from the rear and I also live on a bumpy un-adopted road, so any knocking would be quite apparent at slow speeds. Is the shock getting slightly stuck in a set position i.e under braking the back of the car lifts slightly, then because it's not under any real load when coasting in traffic it will noticably click/drop back to the right position ???? Or is is something to do with the rear diff / DCCD ?? Not something I ever experienced in 10 years of owning classic's !!!! |

Sounds like shocks getting stuck to me.. The self mod is pretty easy if you have the right gear mate!! Few of on the wr1 forum have tackled it!
