mmmmmmmm ill have a look, also got a letter through from Lancashire police the other day saying hes got a speeding ticket doing 36 in a 30, they said they know i sold the car before offence was commited but the current owner hasnt informed the DVLA of his details, so they were asking me for them.

Yeah its my old one again, hes put an induction kit and dv on it and given the engine a steam clean, not sure if hes fixed the problems but tbh i dont care anymore, if he hasnt fixed them then its gonna be blatently obvious hes not being entierly truthfull but then thats gonna come back on him, i was totally honest with him and made sure he was perfectly aware of everything before he signed. I just hope who ever buys it dosent get ripped off.

Just re-read the post and a bit confused:

Direct Gov website (http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/RegisteringAVehicle/DG_4022311) notes:

"Registration certificate V5C
If you have a registration certificate you must complete section 6 'new keeper or new name/new address details' of the V5C. Both you and the buyer must sign section 8 and send the V5C immediately to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1BA. You must also give the buyer the properly completed V5C/2 section."

I assume you must have sent off the V5, as the DVLA know you sold the car, but they should also have the details of the new owner on file...

If you didn't send off the V5, then how do they know you have sold the car?
