Brilliant......goes to show what punishment a driver can put up with when strapped in with all the right kneck supports. Without a kneck brace or Hanz device he would be carried off on a stretcher.

I've followed this for some years now and the truck in the vid is the only truck that is still privately owned. All the rest are now owned by Monsterjam Inc.

I was talking to the driver of Santa Pods monster truck (who also attends Monsterjam at Cardiff) and he told me the rear diffs are 19K each.

The motors are fully blown (supercharged) big blocks most being 540 ci (8748cc)
and run on 100% Meths knocking out 1400 - 1500 bhp each.

There are over 250 Monsterjams every 12 months world wide that generate up to 75,000 every day. The freestyles are normally the last events where the drivers (who are all paid $60,000 per year) are told to trash the trucks !

Dennis Anderson (Grave Digger) founder still races in his mid 50's with 2012 being his 30th year of racing these monsters. Every jam this year will see a new paint job on the truck.

The best driver is Tom Meents (Maximum Destruction). The bloke is a total fookin nutta with awesome skills. Owned huge trucks from 13 years old.

I don't follow any of the series that closely, but watching Monster Trucks has always been a guilty pleasure of mine!

I love that the solution to all problems is just to pin the throttle! The save at 2:00 is spectacular.
