Default Black or White? or something wacky?

Hi chaps, would like your views please

Been thinking over the past few weeks that i want to paint my alloys after reading silversurfers little project and try to get away from the normal alloy shade, but i cant decide what colour.

Black or white keeps coming to mind and seems sensible but i cant visualise what would look better something rather out here like red too keeps coming to mind but i keep telling myself not to be stupid .

here's the type of alloy that i have,

I wouldn't go back as you lose the definition/detail in the wheel imo. White is cool but a pig to clean and not sure it would work with that style or wheel? Gunmetal? Bit common now but would suit the car i reckon.

ps. discs and calipers look nice and shiny

Could do, I've bought the etch primer from halfords ( ACID#8 ) which scott sugested is a must if he ever did his again, just need to find a good paint that will stick and cover well??? Will need a good cleaner to get the backs clean though, its not all about just painting the front gotta do a proper job!!!!!!!

p.s
I take it though gun metal is a few shades darker than my current car colour, dont want it to match too close!

Gunmetal is dark grey mate.
I've got a mate that can put them in a plop tank , falling that you need to use 101 neat and then rub down .
Tbh it's going to take a few hours each wheel to prep

Think you need a darker colour with colour of car fella, just my opinion really but either black or gunmetal grey as said before, if your car was a lighter silver colour then id say white, up to you though as long as your happy with it thats all that matters

As our cars are similar colours, the Vauxhall Steel Grey Mettalic - Code 114/82: Steel Grey Met (91-94)
It used should work well.
It's darker then the car and can almost look black when on the move, but not so dark when stationary to loose all the detail.
I will defo be painting my next set the same colour as the ones I wantonly come in Silver or Black.

Both colours look very nice but would it look like a bad colour match as nick has said to me on FB doing it in a random mettalic grey? My scoob seems a lot darker in the flesh than in that profile pic.

So i suppose i could colour match the wheels to the car as i can get the spray from paints4u.com (86f) but then would it look to much?

How can it be so blooming hard to choose a colour, lol.
I know, one wheel each colour, job done!

RB5 isn't a colour matched wheel, but is still anthracite.
IMHO it would look more like a bad colour match even if it were colour matched due to the various light angles.

I don't like colour matched as it looks too much, hence why I went several shades darker.
