Default 2012 Impreza

Found this on UK Legacy forum. Makes an interesting read !! I like the front end in the black saloon pic - but then I would cos it's similar to our Legacy. Not keen on much else apart from inside. I do like the fact it hasn't got a massive A-pillar. I don't like the massive door mirrors.

Interesting Article on the 2012 Imprezza

Oh crikey! :zoiks:

When I opened the page, I saw what I thought was a Citroen and a Volvo.

Interior looks nice, as do the alloys, after that however

Nice interior, Avensis exterior. Got to remember though, that the new impreza is not a replacement for the outgoing impreza STI. Its squarley aimed the mondeo man who can then tell his mates he has an impreza!

To use a word Nige would use - Fugly..... What were they thinking. There design engineers should be shot.

If they are going to change at least change for the better. The older hatch is a much nicer looking car.

Now I never thought I would see that comment in print after the hatch launch criticism. How times move on. I wonder where they get their designers from?

Reckon it'll look different in WRX/STi guise but otherwise dull as dishwater .

They only seem interested in the yank market so it'll be hard plastics, tinny build quality and wide-assed seats all the way....

Keep the STi now and forever methinks.

actualy, what would be realy nice for once is if they went back to the old V1 body shell, then designed a new car based on that. retro shell, new mechanics/suspension etc.

Same old thing that's been happening since the release of the BugEye.
Everyone slates the early pics as they are always mid-range models, then when the STi comes out a large proportion change their minds.

There isnt going to be a WRX or STi as I understand it. Just a boggo basic saloon car.

you spelled "turd" wrong there theres no "c" "a" or "r" in it.

i dont totally agree with silvers comments about past models though. bugeye i have never realy liked unless it has been modified, and even then not many, has to be done well. blob, I have always liked, especialy ones with subtle mods, but standard form is just as nice. Hawk I have always liked, the one after the hawk with the daniella westbrook nose I never liked in the hatch version (& never will), the sallon version is an improvement.

this new one is definately not gonna get me excited. 6 pints and some viagra and even then, I wouldnt tell my mates about it after.

Oh dear ! ..........

I'm glad these new Scoobs are as appealing as a porcupines peni5 because it's making the earlier models look so beautiful.

Hmmm. Looks wagonish, but too flat on the sides. The other huge downfall is the MPG. 36... is that all? I used to get 30 (just) in my old My04 wagon.

With plenty of manufacturers making cars of SUV size that'll do 50+ in Deisel format... Subaru are not going to shift many of these.

Still... at least it's got Sqn standard roof bars

Goin against the grain here... But for a bogo standard car(turd) think it looks alot better than some other jelopys that are around!!

I can live with that too!! Classic all the way (even though it's a wagon that I have and not a "real" Impreza in many people's eyes)

Yeah, thats what I understood as well. The Impreza name will continue to be attached to a bog standard family saloon, the WRX/WRX STI name will then be attached to a completely different car.

To be honest the basic Impreza has never appealed to me, its always the WRX onwards that has been the looker. Shame that the Impreza name will continue in such a mundane form, but I'm waiting to see if Subaru do what they say and produce a more focused WRX/WRX STI as they have hinted.
