It was a thread basically saying all scoobies are driven by chavs, pikies and scum. Me being a scooby owner was sticking up for our side saying like all cars its only the small minority that ruin it but they werent having any of it, If anyone is part of the group have a look and youll see what i mean

Unfortunately there are a few plebs out there driving scoobs now (classics mainly ) that give the rest of us a bad name.

But there are a lot more idiots driving around in Corsas, Saxos and Escorts etc.

My mates pull my leg about it being a 'chavvy' car and given it's unsubtle stying I can see where they are coming from. However it seems to be guilty by association in that the boy-racers in their Saxo's etc. take styling cues from the Impreza by adding non-functional bonnet scoops and big wings seemingly hoping that it is somehow going to make the car magically quicker.

I thought it might be something like that, but not being on Facepox I wouldn't know the full ins and outs.

I agree with the comments in here though. The one thing about Subaru's now is that that can be bought by virtually anyone, at a good price. Meaning the only worry now is insurance for lots of the ex Corsa boys, moving to the next level.

There will always a certain amount of idiots & chavs out there, which is why sites like ours are and will remain aimed more at true enthusiast. At the end of the day though, we are a Friendly and welcoming forum, we can't judge anyone without actually meeting them first. We have seen a small number of members move away from the site, because they knew this is not the place for them. But there is always a "home" for them.

All we can do is carry on down the line we always have done. We had no problems with Ace Cafe, they had no problems with us. That's all we can do.

Its only because the prices on the classics are now in the affordable range for the Corsa boys, as said above.....

Steve, Juppy & Rossmarts. You are also guilty in the same sort of way calling people who drive Saxo's chavs.
I drive a Saxo vtr & a Scoob looks like I'm screwed
What I have found in the last couple of days, are people tend to stay way to close to the back of the Scoob & rev there engines. Same at traffic lights. This don't happen with the Evo. ....................... Not that I can remember anyway

Actually I said that my car has been referred to (with tongue in cheek) as chavvy by other people, who in reality I know would gladly swap their car for mine given the choice. I was simply wondering if the styling additions that some people put on cars such as bonnet scoops etc. reminiscent of those that actually serve a purpose on the Impreza has in some way contributed to what I believe to be the erroneous perspective that the Impreza is a chavvy car.

There are clearly people out there who view the Impreza as chavvy and as the vast majority of owners I have met have been anything but, it stands to reason that this viewpoint has been born out of something else.

It was very difficult lol but i thought it would only back up what they were saying if i started ranting off lol

Just annoys me abit that they generalise every scooby owner because of a few twats
