Really, I thought it would be a bit of a flop TBH just because some of the remakes lately have had really weak story lines.

Will check it out

I thought both super 8 and new transformers were average so not holding much hope for 'blockbusters' this year but u never know.

Watched Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes last night, it was good, the effects were amazing but it was not the best film I have seen this year.

I've had a bit of a resurgence in cinema trips this year; having discovered the Bluewater cinema is only down the road from the girlfriends (and isn't a total crap hole like the cinemas in Bromley and Croydon) I've been a lot more inclined to go this year.

Haven't seen Captain America yet, but everyone I know whose seen it has said its very meh. Saw Sucker Punch and was let down as I had been expecting a lot more, keep meaning to pick the extended blu-ray up as I'm hoping that will make it more of a complete film. Transformers 3 entertained me (and was better than number 2) but I wasn't that blown away. My girlfriend insisted on seeing Bad Teacher which was actually OK. Battle: LA was disappointing - watchable - but not that well put together in my opinion. Paul was funny (but not quite at the same level of Shaun... or Hot Fuzz), but still a good film.

Two best films I've seen at the cinema this year have been Inbetweeners (which I was afraid would run out of ideas when stretched across 90 minutes, but it really didn't) and, as much as it surprises me saying it, Fast & Furious 5. It wasn't big or clever, but it promised 2 hours of mindless summer entertainment and thats exactly what it provided.

Want to see Cowboys & Aliens but haven't had a spare evening for that one yet!

I'm going back a couple of years but the best film I've seen in ages was Law Abiding Citizen.

I thought that was an awesome film.

Damn. I saw a trailer for that and was hoping it would be good.

Best films I've seen in the last couple of years have probably been Inception and District 9. I know Inception divided a lot of people, but its one of the first films I've seen for a long time where everyone whose watched it seems to have a strong opinion on it - be it like or loathe!

Yet to see Law Abiding Citizen, I know it had some pretty good reviews though. Will have to check it out.

Speaking of films, did anyone see that film "Four Lions" on Channel 4 last night? I caught the last 20 minutes or so, picked up pretty quickly what the film was about and then was surprised when it was actually really watchable.
