Default Recommend me a Tablet for under £100

Looking to spend about £80 on a tablet for my son for christmas.
Saw what looked like a good one when channel hopping and ended up on a shopping chnnel.

Can anyone recommend anything. I think I'm looking at around a 7" screen.

Cheers

My son has the Nexus 7. I know it's out of the price range you quoted, but it's a great bit of kit. He uses it all the time even though he has an iPad 3!

Just picked up 3 galaxy tab 2's for £108 each.

Pc world are doing a £50 cash back on them at the moment if you buy one of there cases, and they do a cheap pocket type case for £7.

Works out allot cheaper than anywhere else on the market. And it's a nice bit of kit..

Archos do a bunch of them. 7", 8" and 10" and I am forever seeing them at discount prices (£80ish). They are sometimes branded ARNOVA but it's still Archos. They all run Android.

Isn't there an issue with Archos and Android.
I read a while ago that Archos imposed some limitations, and reviewers were complaining and being very Anti-Frecnh (which I assume, from that, is what Archos is)

Nexus or the Samsung. I went for the Nexus as it was newer and had better reviews. Very pleased, but appreciate it's over the price range so would say stretch to the Samsung. As mentioned by Rob, there's some good offers around. Oliver is going to be a lucky boy this Christmas!

Curry's are all out of Samsung's but Tesco are now doing a £30 cashback + 8GB card, and there is no requirement to buy a case.

However, it appears that you can claim your cashback direct from Samsung as long as it was purchased from a UK retailer. Not all retailers have wised up to promote this, but it is valid as long as they are UK based :

Qualifying retailers: In order for your claim to qualify, your purchase must be made from a retailer specifically based and/or registered within the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland. Pixmania are specifically excluded from this promotion.

This was the same when we purchased a Samsung Fridge Freezer. A few online sellers were promoting, but some, even big ones, were not.
We still managed to get £100 cashback an also a 5 year warranty, for free, direct from Samsung post purchase from a retailer that was not promoting this offer.

More info here : http://www.samsung.com/uk/tab2cashback/

The PC World/Currys deal is £20 from them and £30 and a memory card from Samsung, effectively get the case for free. Had to get mine from Crawley in the end, they were selling like hot cakes, there were at least 10 sold while I was in there last Friday lunch time. Set them up on Saturday night with G-Mail accounts and hooked up to the WiFi, nice bits of kit, stuck a couple of films on them for them to watch, should keep them happy on holiday next year.
