Default Mid Engined Engine Options

I’ve started putting together some ideas and parts for my new project which will be along the lines of an open cockpit “LMP/Radical/Spire/Inverter” type car. I’m hoping to use as much Subaru running gear as possible. I despise bike engine cars so I’m currently thinking about using a 3.3 SVX or 3.0 H6 engine. My query is what needs to be done to bolt these engines to a 5 speed Impreza box. I want to avoid as much machining as possible if I can. I have to use the 5 speed box as this is the only box that currently can be converted to mid mounted configuration.

I don’t want to do too much too the engine tuning wise, I was thinking of a set of Jenvey throttle bodies, uprated exhaust and a different management system. Thoughts on tuning would also be welcome.

Cheers all

Thought you might have a rest after your HEADACHE. So hows the car running? Must pop over and have a cup of tea with you. The Kit is now powered with a Cosworth turbo lump 365 bhp at the wheels making it a tad under 700 bhp per ton. Wheel spin all the way. Ian is over the moon with it.
Speak soon.

Hi Hugh long time no speak, I hope this finds you well. Is that a cosworth in the RH?? bit of a handful I'd imagine!! The cars running ok, needs a bit of sorting suspension geometry and engine temperature as its running a bit hot. The vents all need opening up a little and the mesh changing for a less dense version. Its overboosting possibly because of a pipe comining off between the solendoid and Turbo. Overall it shows promise. not IVA'ed yet not in a rush because of winter now. The car is now in storage away from the house so I can't tinker with it as I feel the need.

Decided to build a proper track weapon, with the intention of going to Spa and getting a few good laps in. quite fancy something a little retro though along the lines of this:

Two seater with lights though, aka 908/917 keep me busy and out the pub for a while

It was only geared for 80mph tops so the vooxhell should still see it off

Might not as a new five speed box and new rear running gear was fitted at the same time could make 155+ but I wouldn't have big enough dangly bits to test it out.

I've taken the plunge and bought an eg33 lump for this project.

I'm not after big horsepower, just fancy the soundtrack, though I would like to get the power up to about 350ish BHP I would be interested in anyone's thoughts on the best tuning options for this. Especially as there doesn't seem to be many performance parts readily available for these engines.
