The newer Subaru filters were smaller than the old ones but do fit fine (they're blue instead of black).

A lot of people don't like them though, seem to have been made to a budget. I've had them before without problem, but have a couple of the older black ones in the garage now for future servicing.

i have a blue, fitted a few weeks ago. everything xseems fine, no leaks, but my warmed idle oil pressure seemed to drop from 2.2 bar to 2 bar. I am guessign it is less restrictive than the old black one I had before, even though it is smaller

the OE blue filter is not made to a budget its simply been re-designed to suit "end of life" disposal regs better..............
there are limited supplies of the older BLACK OE filter

the Blue has been around for a number of years now and have lost count of the number we have used and supplied with NO issues at all and from a straw poll of other tuners they find the same - we do also stock/supply Black and the K&N versions also

The ones I've seen fail have been on 550+ cars... Guess that would count you all out any way

Mine and stews both spat there gaskets out at Surrey rolling road.. Stews resulting in a fire, lucky for me Charlie noticed some oil when I pulled off, went to the ring 4 days later and could have been expensive if it had totally failed out there

I've got a black one on at the moment but will have whatever Alyn has put in the box with my oil next time - as far as I'm concerned if AS supply them they are good enough for me!
