Default M.o.t £39.50

Had the car mot tested at Setyres in worthing on Saturday, passed but had a advisory stating (non standard rear box)..noisy exhaust [7.1. 2b] whats all that about? plus point it only cost me £39.50

7.1.2.b "A silencer in such condition, or of such a type, that the noise emitted from the vehicle is clearly unreasonably above the level expected from a similar vehicle with a silencer in average condition."

"Unreasonably above" are the key words as this indicates that above the normal level is acceptable and thus leaves it at the discretion of the tester to decide if it is unreasonable.

Thanks for reply, so its about noise not leaking/blowing, I am suprised he could hear it over the clanky front springs,and Ginger Baker rear struts. LOL
