Up up and away

Lightened and balanced

Preserved Eastbourne Corp'n

Now for another ride on the seafront!!

These are bus travellers

A bit basic

Get out the way!!!!

Well here we are - 9th March 1991. We have a friend who is a bus instructor for Southdown, and he asks if one saturday we would like to go for a drive. We said yes! So I started at the first layby out of Polegate on the A27 and drove to Rottingdean (lot of use of the crash gearbox from Falmer over the top down into Rottingdean). Then the poor chap who was supposed to be training had a go down to Madeira Drive. Then Julia had a go along Madeira Drive and off to Peacehaven.

Sorry for quality of the scans - pre-digital of course!

Here is Julia with the bus on the day. Leyland Titan PD3. I believe it still goes to transport shows.

We both loved it!!

You are not wrong - you really go back in time at these events. There are some unusual people around at these occasions for sure, and I fit right in!

You are right there Clive - we were going up a hill out of East Dean. I doubt whether the other passengers would have been prepared to all put their hands up.....
