Default What do people think 'Track' photo's will sell a car ?

The last thing I want to see when buying a car are pictures of it being spanked on a track :

1 carefull elderly owner, never raced or rallied ??

Depends on the car!

If I were to sell my car for any reason, I would like to think pics of it a TOTB and its collection of trophies as a plus point and dare I say make it more valuable!!

BTW my car is too far gone to be sold as a road car anymore

Is it not a case of the ones showing as being on track are the honest sellers?

Most enthusiast owned cars would have done some form of track / handling day in there time...... so not really a problem.

Unless you buy brand new, you'll never know how the cars been driven or looked after. The only thing is, with the type of car its not as big a problem as maybe it would be with another make / model?

This is a complete black and white thing.

If it says never raced or rallied and they then post pics like this, they get what they deserve.

But as said in this thread, most enthusiasts will have at least one track day, even if it's just a taster session, most people just to get the pictures.

IMHO, if the service history is spot on and the checks you give it when looking at a car add up, then generally it should be ok.

If anyone ever has the slightest doubt, walk away.

Although in fairness, I would think twice about the bugeye advert, he's ragging the tits of the thing!

What would i prefer... A car thats looked after and checked for trackdays or one that has been ragged from the lights, drives down potholed roads and speeds over speed bumps....

Hmmm let me see

I'd rather have SilverSurfers car.

As long as the car has been well looked after i'd be happy.

Good thing about buying off forum members, you can check back on the forums about the car and most people know what the cars are like

James. I'd have your car anyday. I know a fair bit of it's history. It has been pushed a bit, but well looked after and done properly

Same as, I want to see all the invoices. I keep absolutely everything that I have done to the car, where it's been done, even halfrauds invoices for oil.

Depends entierly on the car and the owner, if someone had pics up like that but had all the paperwork to back it up to show it had been looked after then would it really matter?

If they put on the advert never raced or rallied or tracked etc then put pics up like that then thats just a blatent lie.

And people dont drive hard on the road ?

I'd rather know a cars seen track use then not and find out after

i was looking at a Forester STi and the fella said it was just his weekend car and was only used on the road, he then sent me 50 pics of the car and in the middle was 4 pics from Santa pod on the strip, i didnt care it had been the quarter, i lost interest in the car as he lied

if the seller lies or knowingly hides the info then walk away or don't bother

Have to say though, both the links in the original post seem ok to me!

I'd agree with this...

As has been said though, the first whiff of BS, then its time to walk away!
