Default SES @ Supercar Siege - Leeds Castle, Kent 18th May

Supercar Siege - Leeds Castle, Kent 18th May

SES have once again been invited by the organisers of last years Charity to come and enjoy a day at the 'Loveliest Castle in the World', Leeds Castle,Kent.

Quote:
Once again this is being kindly hosted by Leeds Castle,(Kent), and in support of Royal Navy & Royal Marine Children's Fund.

For those of you who missed last years event, we manage to raise a total of £10,000 for the charity, through the 300 cars on display and the amazing amount raised through the Dream Rides - Sporting Bears.

It was an amazing success for us being our first large event, we managed to get close to 4000 visitors through the gates and we hope to double that this year.
We also learned a lot and took on board the feedback given and hope that this years event will be a massive improvement.

The day is open to all and will have a relaxed family focused feel to it, highlights include:
  • 600 cars ranging from iconic hatch backs to hyper cars and everything in between.
  • Small traders village selling specifically targeted wears for the car enthusiast.
  • Dream Rides courtesy of the Sporting Bears.
  • Huge array of children's activities including a brand new play park.
  • Static Army Air Corps Helicopter, *Apache currently booked in but subject to change.
  • Access to tour the stunning Castle and grounds which can take all day to get around if you do it properly.

Prices are as follows:

Static car display/club display pass is £10 + £1 booking fee
This covers all passengers in the vehicle (max 4 pax).
The normal entry prices are £21 per adult and £18.50 per child so a huge saving for those attending.

For those that don't want to show their cars and want to park in the public car parks there will be a 2 for 1 scheme being run closer to the event.

We are seeking your help to raise much needed money for the charity, the next time you see reported losses in Afghanistan, more often than not there will be children bereaved. The charity supports the children and the family through the bereavement.

Points to note:

All cars must be on the stand by 8:00hrs and remain in place until 16:30hrs. This has been agreed with the venue.
No revving of engines. There is a vast array of wildlife in the castle grounds including Peacocks which distress easily.
Payment will be via our online site which is going live mid March and the cut off point will be the 1st of May.

Any questions feel free to ask,
Baz and Ross

This sounds interesting. I was wondering, if I was to come along with you guys would it be ok the bring the missus and the kids in tow? And would I pay only £10?

Cheers Ryan.

Great day out this, last years was a proper laugh. Wonder what Pete and Ian can manage this year to annoy the castle staff

Just seen that an Apache helicopter is going to be on show, now that would make a nice car/heli photo shoot.

It'll be confirmed closer to the date, depending on what the organisers want to do

Hi Steve, just wondering if they only have 10 spaces on the stand, is it a first come first served basis? Also I might be bringing my mrs and 3 kids so do you know the extra cost of the extra child? Not that it matters just so I know how much to pay when the time comes?thanks Steve

Good spot, that was in the text I was sent but doesn't apply to us (copy and paste error ). We'll have space for as many members as we can get, I'm sure (i've edited the original post). Last year, we had about 25 scoobs on the club stand I think.

I'm not sure about the cost of an extra child as I expect the 4 people in a car rule applies to adults. It may even be that children are free under a certain age, so I'll see what I can find out. Wouldn't expect it to be a problem though.

Hi guys,

Payment should be live within the next week or so, we wll let all clubs know when it does.

Extra kids are fine, had an issue with one person giving friends a lift in the car through the gate, 7 people in a 4 seater was kicking the **** out of it

That takes the piss.
This event is already great value and most importantly for charity.
Anyone who is seen abusing this generous price reduction will be immediately asked to leave and will certainly not be allocated space on any SES stand at any future events.

Couldn't agree more mate, and I was only joking about the 4 kids in the boot I think the event is very cheap to be honest and like you say it all goes to charity so even better

Anybody ripping off a charity deserves what's coming their way. Some people just have no morals. As said it's cheap already, so why bother. I can't wait, I'm sure it'll be a cracking day.

Hi all,

Thank you for being patient with us, we were hoping for an E Ticket system but have gone back to last years process.

To pay please go to this Justgiving page: http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/supercarsiege2014

We are now asking for £10 minimum donation and not the £11 as previously stated.

I cannot stress enough, please make sure you put the following down with your payment in the message section:
Name
Registration number
Make/Model
Club (SES).

|

Without it we won't be able to guarantee you a place.

Any questions send us an email at Clubs@supercarsiege.co.uk

Ross

Hi Ross, Thanks for the update.
I will chase everybody to pay individually, which saves us the hassle of collating/collecting everything.
Do you want to send out the passes direct to me and I will hand them out in the services, as per last year.

Is there a cut off date after which it's too late to join the stand?

Still unsure if we'll make it, but I'm hopeful of doing so.

So the passes will all be sent to one person then handed out to us when we meet on the day?

Same sort of question really.....I'm 99.9% sure we're going but we only arrive back from a Holland drive the night before so getting there for 7:30am(!) will be a tug on my crew....and I have to AutoGlym the car at some point lol

No not this year as i think they had complaints from the services.
Passes will be handed out when we enter. Although we will probably meet up somewhere beforehand, but perhaps not the services.

Trouble is, last year the services were rammed with cars and it probably didn't go down too well. So they have had to have a re-think

Hello,

The plan is to have everyone to come direct to the castle, those who made it last year will know they have a very large external car park which is used by the public during the day.

We will have a small army of people herding cars into the right holding areas , a bit like meeting at the services, the passes will then be allocated to the cars.

For us it means we are able to deal with the cars in a controlled environment without having to worry about random cars, children wondering around, police becoming an issue.

Sure it will work like clockwork

Ross

Cool, it'll be more organised than a few hundred cars descending on the services, i'm sure!

Still unsure if we'll make it, but I'm hopeful of doing so.

Ta.
Sorry if I'm being thick and/or blind... but I can't see that this was answered.

Anyone got any thoughts? (other than "**** off Stig with your stupid questions" )
