Travel Arrangements for 2013 RING TRIP.
Due to reasons beyond my control !!
I have had to make the following decision. Outward journey 24/05/2013 @ 07.36 Return Journey 28/05/2013 @ 17.50. I have reserved space for 9 vehicles on both of these trains at a cost of £102 (return) for each vehicle. I have done this because space is at a premium, being Bank Holiday weekend and some trains and ferries have already sold out. The 07.36 train is the only train available that can accommodate us all traveling together at this time of day. 1. BIG"E" & Stiggy - twin 2. Nick & Sian (Comfort Double)[B] 3 NIGHTS 3. Steve & Claire (Comfort Double) 4. Hongkongfooi & Lucky( Comfort twin0 5. Scooby Greg + Dave H - twin 6. SilverSurfer + 1 - Twin 7. Steve(Bolesroor)+ Liz (Comfort Double if possible?) 8. Dave & Wanda (Comfort Double) 9. Simon & Jo (twin) 10. ScoobySlayer + 1. (twin) Please can you all except Nick & Sian let me have your surnames and reg numbers to pass on to Euro Tunnel as soon as possible The only way I could guarantee us traveling together was to provisionally book this, payment has to be made by me on Monday to secure, A.. a place on the train and B.. the price of £102 per vehicle. I hope this meets with everyone's approval. Payments should be made to : payments@southeastscoobies.co.uk via www.paypal.com with the comments field including details of who it is from. WHEN MAKING PAYMENT PLEASE ENSURE THAT SOUTH EAST SCOOBIES RECEIVE THE FULL AMOUNT, AND THAT YOUR PAYPAL TRANSACTION CONFIRMS THIS. ANY PAYMENT RECEIVED WHERE SOUTH EAST SCOOBIES INCURR PAYPAL COSTS WILL BE REJECTED / RETURNED PLEASE THEREFORE USE A 'PERSONAL TRANSFER' NOT 'PURCHASE', AS BELOW : Select 'Personal Transfer'. It's free* when you use your PayPal balance or your bank account linked to your PayPal account. There is a charge of 3.4% +£0.20 GBP for debit or credit card payments (either the sender or recipient can pay this fee). If using a Debit or Credit Card, Please ensure you select the option for the sender to pay the fee.

Hongkongfooi has decided to get a ferry that departs at the same time as the train. So he will be at least 45 mins behind us so when we stop for breakfast they can catch up with us then. If we can be bothered to wait that long

Train passenger info just received from EuroTunnel
Dear Mr BIG"E" Important pre-travel information As you are travelling during one of our busiest travel periods of the year we wanted to give you some pre-travel advice to ensure your trip with us goes as smoothly as possible. List of busy dates Folkestone to Calais Calais to Folkestone April 6, 7, 12, 13, 14 May 3, 12, 23, 24, 25, 26 6, 27, 31 June 1, 2 Arrival and check-in times We advise you to keep to your booked departure time and do not arrive early or late, during this busy period, as we will not have space to accommodate you. You should therefore plan to check-in at least 30 minutes prior and no more than 2 hours before your booked departure time. Passport and documentation All passengers (including any pets that are travelling with you) will need a valid passport or ID card. A driving licence is not a valid document for travelling abroad. Please ensure you have your passport or ID card within easy reach and out of its wallet before approaching border controls. In-car breathalysers On 1 July 2012, a new legislation came into force in France. All drivers of a motorised land vehicle, excluding mopeds, must possess a digital breathalyser or an unused (and immediately available) breathalyser kit which conforms to NF standards. This rule equally applies to vehicles registered outside France. Only vehicles fitted with Breathalyser Interlocks are excluded. The enforcement of the law and the implementation of a fine for non-compliance have been postponed until further notice. However, as a precautionary measure, we recommend that drivers still carry in-car breathalysers. Be fully prepared. Call into the AA travelshop, in our Folkestone Passenger Terminal Building, for all compulsory or recommended car equipment required for driving abroad. 24-hour Customer Information Line Before setting off on your journey please call our 24 hour pre-recorded Customer Information Line on +44 (0) 8444 63 00 00 or visit www.eurotunnel.com/latest which will give you the latest travel information for both the Folkestone and Calais Terminals. We look forward to welcoming you on board and wish you a pleasant journey with us. Yours sincerely, Jo Willacy

Nice one Ian, looks like we'll have to consider return travel more carefully this year so we don't end up getting to Calais far too early if we can't get on earlier trains...
Is that your surname in your passport |

Snap mate
Strange that it's so expensive to go on the ferry on that weekend. The tunnel is good though, but not great for anything that sits too low. James would be well fooked! |

It's mainly due to the bank holiday, worth that bit extra to not have to take an extra days holiday!

I have informed Euro Tunnel that we have some low slung cars and have been told that we will be on single deck compartment which cater for such things..

I love going on the tunnel, done it twice now. But for some weird reason its become part of the pilgrimage going on the ferry. |

Breathalyzers in France
Hi guys, not sure if you know that having breathalyzers with you in France is no longer obligatory. That's why I thought I tell you. One of the members on the WOC just posted it. Here you can have a look:
