Default My best lap this year

Finally figured out how to get this video malarky online, so here's my last lap from Sunday evening.

Nick waited for me to come through the barriers as I was going to follow as a camera car, but he moved over at Hatzenbach so I could push on.

Not the greatest video quality but its from a phone at the end of the day. Need something proper like Worzels GoPro HD!

Great lap Steve

It's a real shame you got held up for the first 2 minutes

You should have asked if you wanted to borrow the Hero. The offer was made to all!

Nah, not really. Claire had come round on my 3rd lap about 10 minutes earlier and i'd had a couple of moments that made the buttcheeks wobble a bit, so i was quite happy to follow Nick round (Neil was onboard with him so i thought i might follow their lines). But i was on my own for that lap, and Nick decided he didn't want me on his bumper i guess, so decided i might as well go for it.

Did record my 3rd lap as well - but i'd set the phone to record full HD video. For whatever reason, the whole thing was completely blurred - i think it managed to focus on a squished bug on the windscreen rather than the track ahead. But i can make out that from that lap, i only lost 6 seconds behind Nick.

Bloody good lap there mate, and very good time.

Did have my heart thumping on a few occasions though, very committed into both Karussell and a big squeal on 'My favorite' corner........

Cheers Scott.

I was chuffed with the time too, all i wanted to do on the trip was get under 10 minutes. I was surprised as well when i looked at the video to work out the time. All that GT5 and youtube watching clearly paid off as i felt i knew the circuit much more this year.

But the scoob did brilliantly, considering its still only 250bhp and running wrx 4pot brakes (although i've not taken the pads out yet, i have a suspicion i've cooked another set of Bluestuff NDXs!)

In a word NO!

The only thing you can learn is left and right, end of. Everything else is totally different, braking, cambers, gradients etc. Scarily different.

Agree with that Steve, its one of the reasons i tried to learn it from other peoples youtube clips instead.

Theres a couple of bits in the game where the circuit is just completely wrong, things like having two distinct corners whereas in real-life they are one long corner with two apexes etc.

Steve, you really are getting rather good at this stuff!. Great lines mate. The car is spot on too, and in a funny way it may be that having 250bhp is doing you a favour as you can push it to (and sometimes beyond!) its limits and really drive the socks off it, whereas, sometimes more power doesnt necessarily mean quicker. I shall use your vid as practice for next year!!

cheers guys

I have to admit there was a good hours worth of tinkering with that last pic yesterdat evening. The original is below, and there were a million bugs on the car, plus half a red car in the background.
