Default Are all main dealers useless?

My Mum's car (Jag x-type awd estate) got rear ended a few weeks back. Afterwards it made a really loud banging noise and the car jumped forward so we insisted it was checked out by Jaguar.

The car went in once and they said there was nothing wrong and it was just a heat shield that had fallen off or something. However it kept doing it, so the car went back down. Apparently no problem what so ever. So car goes in, bodywork is done, car returned. My brother was meant to be taking it down to france yesterday morning but the car was still occasionally making this noise.

He got the RAC out and within 2 or 3 minutes he could see that it was a damaged prop shaft and potentially diff to!!!!!

How can it take an RAC guy 2 or 3 minutes yet have been down to Jag twice and not spotted?????

Rant lol

My local Mercedes main dealer in Redhill is spot on. My friends work on parts & service and Moley's friend works on reception. I get treated like a king & my car is well looked after & never had a reason to complain.

When i had the Hilux, i used the Toyota main dealer in Redhill, i fopund a few staff in there rude & useless, but some really helpfull.

Used Cheam for my scoob. Again, faultless.

When i had Vauxhall's it was perfect. My dad worked at the main dealer.

My Ford vans are safe. Emma works at the local Ford main dealer

Small llocal garages have a more personal feel & service to them, but i do like to use main dealers when i can. At least then i know the parts are genuine & staff should be trained

not all main dealers are useless mate, but i guess its who you talk to really most of the places i go normally have someone i know in them.

When ive gone down to mercedes in redhill with chunk theve allways been spot on and give good customer service,

Same in ford when ive had to get bits for the other half on previous cars, spoken to emma and everything gets sorted quickly, is correct and get good advice too.

Same story with cheam subaru, shame theve gone now but everytime i went there they were allways happy to help and give good advice

Its a shame there isnt more of the above garages with people like them working in them, maby we should put a list up of decent garages and dealers?
