Default Launch Control

Those of you with bigger power should invest in Launch Control.

When you get to 500 Bhp it is virtually impossible to launch quickly. Big power &Triple Plate Clutch = Big problems.

There are many types of LC but the system that runs through the P1 is the Motec800 and it's insane. RCM & Dave Row programmed the nine settings & the range from 1 to 9 and will cope with any surface condition variant.

I am getting to grips with the LC now after many tests and for regular dry tarmac setting 4 normally works and it makes it dead easy.

While stationary select setting by turning a dial on the dash and bury the trottle in the carpet, (if you are light on the throttle it wont work, it will just redline. You need to push hard down quickly otherwise the M800 wont realise you want to activate LC)....... so with foot on floor at setting 4 the rpm will be around 5500. You then hear the turbo windy up to full bore with WW3 going on behind the car.

The best mod I to date.

My next mod (Feb) will be a baffled sump. Our mechanical grip was really good on Hankook's & with 888's we feel we may suffer from oil surge.
A dry sump system will sort it but they are really for race cars only.

RCM's NOS system is still an option offering 25 - 50 - 75 & 100 shot.
At the moment I don't feel the need for more power as it's a bit mad as it is, but if I were to opt for the NOS a 100 shot would produce 190 Bhp on top of the current 562 and 752 Bhp gentlemen is fookin stupid in a P1

You can have the nos to shoot at low rev before the turbo comes in to help combat the lag .

Your correct CJ but having NOS would then create a weak spot being the h/gasket. RCM & I have spoke several times on this issue & if I were to go down the NOS route it would mean having a Gas O Ring system thus by passing the h/gasket.

Nope ! being a good boy now. It's very difficult to know when to stop when you know there is more if you want it, but now would be a good time to stop.

Bearing in mind it's my normal car, and running a medium range Turbo, I begun to realised how difficult 600 is to achieve from a 2.0 I found myself being happy if it made 500 so I am really pleased with 562 Bhp.

What about Zen's new dry sump system, seems a very well thought out system (as you would expect from Paul), it might be worth it in the end if (or should that be WILL) go for a bit more power

Seems strange though that your car hasn't got a baffled sump already considering RCM knew the level you was gonna take the car to

Is Paul still offering the dry sump system ? I thought he was just mapping now?
I would not bother with a dry sump in the P1.
As you know Gramp's it impossible to take corners at track speed on the roads.
There may be an Evo around the corner and driving in to the back of it would damage the poor splitter on my P1

When you get your 0-60ft's in the 1.5secs... I'll agree with launch control
