That requires so much battery when it is just sitting on the driveway?!?
I work from home so don't drive the car daily, but after as little as 2 weeks the bastard thing doesn't have enough juice to turn over. It just seems to hemorrhage power from the battery at a ridiculous pace, much worse than any car I've owned before. Is it just the alarm / immobiliser? |

Tracker fitted? Some of the RAC Trackstars (factory fitted tracker) were known to do this on some newage cars i believe, although mine has one and not had a problem...

Mine was a bit sluggish after not being used for a week, I have a tracker fitted but not activated so don't know what it is drawing, obviously the cold weather doesn't help. If its a real issue, just pull the fuses one at a time and check the current being drawn with a mult meter across the terminals.

Tracker I would say. Mine used to go flat after not being used for 2 or 3 days. Someone once told me to drive with the side lights on as on subaru's that somehow helps with the altenator charging the battery?.

Thanks everyone. Either way it seems like there is nothing I can do about it, except maybe removing the tracker (which I won't be doing)
Sadly not having a garage I can't hook it up to a trickle charger either. Oh well, looks like a new battery is in order. Will try driving with sidelights on and see if that helps keep the thing charging a bit better. |

Drive it more regularly, you won't regret it.

Could use one of these assuming no-one will walk off with it?

Wire the cigarette lighter so it's permanent live then just plug one into that and leave on the dash.

Good shout, thanks! Got one on order so will give it a go. It's got to be better than just letting it sit there and go flat again. |
