Talking We're off

Well, here we go again. 4.50am as I type.

Been up since 4.15am after getting at 11.30 (will I ever bloody learn )

Showered, coffee'd, ablutions done but still feeling it.

See you all in a few days, hopefully with good stories and no traumas this year. Shame you ain't coming Scott, but trust me, I won't stop letting Big E know this all weekend

Until Monday night / Tuesday morning. Take care peeps.

Worzel

Autobahns are fun, and had a play on them the other day. Few 140mph runs with a bit of cruising at 120-130 but no max speed runs - heard too many stories of engines going due to the tmic not getting cold air!

Want to make it home with the car still working! I assume a front mount would mean no problems doing max speed runs?

I'm back....four countries in 6 hours (incl ferry) and knackered but got a head full of quality memories....now got to plough through one or two photos!

Shame about Nick and his engine...i left before that happened and set Ray's alarm off as I started my car at 7am
Apparently there was some ding in the car park this morning but don't much about this yet.....

Brilliant trip though!!!

We got back alright thanks to Steve(PPP) and Claire- just waiting for the return of the car!!

Engine let go up a hill at about 110, just went down on power, check engine light then slowly tightened up until coming to a complete but noisy stop at a parking point. I could restart it but sounded like a tumbler drier full of ball bearings and the oils had a nice metallic finish to it!

As for the car park, it appears the brakes on Alfa's (Jimmy) are not as good and Scoobs (Steve, aka (un)Lucky)!! Also I heard from Worzel that Duncan blew his engine 15mins from home in the UK!

bloody hell, so close to home as well!

was an awesome trip, can't believe how much luggage (and beer) we managed to squash inside the scoob on the way back - Nick and Sian were in the back with bags, barely room to breathe

the accident on the Saturday afternoon apparently had no fatalities luckily, but smashed up nine cars after someone dropped brake fluid everywhere and the following cars all fell off the road

It's a real shame about the 2 casualties.

I was only speaking to Duncan in the Shell station in Dover, saying how good it was that we both got back safe and sound after last year. What a shame.
That last thrash to Hastings obviously killed it

Steve PPP, what a top man. Going back to pick up Nick and Sian "Some" of us others were willing too, I hasten to add but Steve was happy to do the honours. Top wing man mate.

What I will remember this weekend is some of the camaraderie shown by some members when others were having problems, no matter what the problem, there was always someone willing to help or to wait with the people with a slight glitch. Also, the laughs, there was so much laughter and banter all weekend. Anger gets the prize for attracting the most attention wherever we went, if it wasn't for the look of his scoob alone, it was the anti lag shows. Top job mate

Car of the weekend though, without question was Niges Evo. That is a seriously sorted bit of kit He did have a bit of a moment on "Niges Hill" though My only regret (apart from not having more than one lap, and that in the pissing rain on 888's) was not having the dash cam set up for the blast we had on Sunday morning round the twisties, where the Evo was fookin immense

All in all, a great trip, 2 unfortunate casualties, but a great time with great people. Thanks one and all (or in Ratty's case, both of you )

Mate, we've all done it or something very similar

And before anyone asks, it's a case of the old "what happens on tour, stays on tour" scenario

I think the beauty of these trips is that you get to know the club better and its members. Both Sim and I genuinely feel we've made some friends on this trip and if any new members feel that they can't quite get into the personalities within the forums then push yourselves and come along to these type events as they are a hoot!

(and I am really missing those great german roads)

It was great to meet and get to know some more members and have to say what a great bunch you all are. It was very diferent for me this year due to my recent accident, I was well looked after, big thanks to C.J for taking me and what perfect ladies Laura and Julia for putting up with me and having to cut all my food up, thanks so much both. And Worzel best buddie cheers for all the laughs. Roll on next year when I can drive again.
