Had this on site at work yesterday along with a load of other electric/hybrid cars. Had a chat with the representative from RML that built and entered the car. They had one of the engines on display, the latest incarnation is a 1.5 litre, turbo charged, 3 cylinder engine producing 450bhp!!!!! This combined with 2 electric motors gives a possible total power output of 750bhp although it didn't run like that at LeManns. The car would run 12 laps under engine power where the regenerative breaking would charge the batteries to enable an entire lap under electric power, apparently the lap times were comparable. Fascinating stuff and may have blagged a test drive in a Tesla to boot.
