Default Windscreen Replacement

Anyone recommend in the Hastings/Eastbourne area.
Picked up a nice crack on the new Audi and I don't want it hacked about by some amateur with a franchise.

Auto Windscreen in Brighton (not the exact area you asked for I realise) did mine as an insurance job.

The chap they sent was excellent (though he was leaving).

He did a full check of the car for marks etc. and noted any down, then gave me a copy.

He took pictures of the bodge job the previous fitters had done and explained it to me, compared to what he'd done (i.e. a proper job).

He also knew what a Forester STi was and how rare they are, so that helped me get comfortable that he was genuinely a car guy.

As I say, he was leaving to do something different, but if he's representative of the whole branch then I'd recommend them.

My friend recently had a very poor experience with them.

I've also seen a few recent issues on other forums, so I'd say you haven't even been unlucky based on that.

They give You a time slot of practically a day!
1st guy arrives seems pleasant I let him get on while sorting stuff out .
Knock on the door 45 mins later "all done" I inspect to see the inside of the screen is scuffed from left to right whole way across, he aplogises and re books it 4 days later as I'm off again , 2.00pm to 7:30pm time slot , I arrive home at 1pm to see the technician waiting there lucky I'm traffic was fine to get home that quick .Then To be told it can't be done as the glue is still to soft . So another half day wasted . Rebook again for Friday ! It gets done and had a scuff on the outside but small enough not bother as was selling the car,
This was a simple Clio no more or less .

Scott you will need to see what your insurance say if your going threw them as mine would offer £50 if I didn't use there approved fitters (auto glass)

Thanks for the recommendation above.
As it turns out my Insurer uses Auto Windscreen's Brighton. So fingers crossed.

I have asked that they replace with an OEM Audi screen, bearing in mind the car is only 5 weeks old. So they are speaking to the insurer to get authorisation.

Fingers crossed it all goes well

I had a bad experience with auto glass to - rear window was cracked and when they replaced they smashed the glass into the car without covering the rest parcel shelf and seat - had fragments off glass everywhere and also the boot is full of broke glass bits

Wasn't happy!

Adrian from Auto Windscreen's attended today and fitted a 'Dealer' specification screen. He has 30 years experience so hopefully the job is all good.
It's kinda scary watching someone man-handle your new car in such a brutal way, especially as big knifes are involved so close to paint and dash material.

I did go round the front paintwork of the car with a tack-pad afterwards and dyson'd the dash and interior, just in case there are any shards of glass anywhere.

Relieved the insurance allowed a dealer screen to be fitted, especially as this is 'Acoustic' glass. The identification on the glass looks to be the same as that removed.

Fingers crossed all is good.
