Default Turbo fu***ng heat shield

Hi everyone I'm halfway doing my clutch on my bugeye, had no problems whatsoever until now, I've unbolted everything even under the car but the bolt at the back of the heat shield is rusted and rounded, I undone the top one no problem, the one on the side I had to cut of now the one on the back I can't get the grinder in, so I'm loosing my temper now and am about to just cut the fu****g thing of,do I actually need it on there! I know it could possibly cause heat soak but is there anyone that's running without there's. Thanks all.

I'm pretty sure there are a few more bolts that attach the turbo heat shield to the cat heat shield too

Cheers si, I actually managed to get the gearbox bolt out without removing the shield, I'm hoping that's all that the shield needed to be taken of for? Gearbox ready to be separated now. Not bad, started at about 1pm and finished at 3, having to wait till Wednesday now as working all day tomorrow so didn't really want to separate the box from the engine and leave it for a day or so, so I chose to call it a day.

Cut it of but try to keep the top hat / turbo cover in reusable condition.
Cut this down so it is just the top cover, using the spot welded seam as a guide. Then refit it with just the 3 uppermost fixing.

Lol 5 cars, got to keep the scoobie mate, and was it you that had the Audi? If so keep that too lol. Honestly though if you need a hand doing yours mate when I've finished mine give me a shout I'll pop over and help, although this is my first ever clutch on an impreza and I'm doing it on my own on axel stands as my mate has let me down, it's not that difficult (yet) lol

Cheers mate, I've managed to save it by managing to get a socket in between the heat shields and undo the bolt.
