Do you know the "rule" with polarizers?
If not, for best results the lens want to be at 90 degrees from the sun, you then frame up and focus, then you rotate the end element of the polarizer until you have darkened into both far edges.
Check your screen after, if it look like the dark polarized edge is short of the edge od the sky, it just needs revolving round a bit further.
It's a bit of trial and error to start but you'll get the hang quickly. You won't regret getting one for sure. Bluebells would be a good tester for it
